I can finally select my 500GB SSD as my captures drive in Settings -> Preferences -> Captures now. Before it was stuck on Internal even if I set it up as the SSD elsewhere. I think they also made a change to the USB firmware because for the first time after it rebooted it picked up the Sabrent USB adapter my Samsung SSD is plugged into by name. It never did that before. I do like that it shows the Auto HDR tag now. I also changed my background to the ribbons one for a bit. I'll most likely end up with a standard image over the animated one though just because that's what I always used.

It still acts weird for me. If I go into my games and apps and check the drives it shows my external is set as capture drive. If I then go into settings and look at capture device it shows internal. I do a screen capture and it does go to the external. If I set it in settings as external it stays until I shut down the xbox (well it goes into standby) and turn it back on.

Try a hard reset and see if that corrects it.

I'm really tempted to get back into the preview program because I really don't like the slow updates and fixes on the normal build. I actually had to manually run this update(I didn't even know about it until your post a few back) where the entire time I was on preview I never had to because it was already applied by the time I checked.

The new update completely broke quick resume for 360 games. I used to be able to resume them now they start from scratch every time. I'm talking every single time. If I go to the dash real quick I have to start over. Hell, the last two tries the game wouldn't fully start back up(just a dark screen with some text too dark to read) and I had to quit and start over. I'm most likely going back to alpha because I don't want to wait a month or more for this to possibly get fixed as this is the main reason I bought the X in the first place(quick resume/fast start).

I caved and went back to getting Alpha builds shortly after posting the above so maybe 10:45am. I tried a few restarts and quick resume with 360 games just wouldn't work on the official update we just got. I can't say if it was a bad update or what because I didn't feel like doing my second factory reset in 2 weeks but so far quick resume has been working again since going to Alpha. I've turned the console on throughout the day and had Saints Row 3 going and every time I was able to get back into my same game so that is a plus for me.

I just noticed something odd. I had the Bing app installed on my internal. I went to do one of the Rewards app cards and was prompted to install Bing so I just let it. I do my quiz in Bing and then go look at it in my apps. I have 2 installs now. One is 53MB and says version 0.0.0.0 and the other is 140MB and is version 1.5.7.70. This is making me think I should delete all my apps and start over with them. I already had to reinstall the Dolby and DTS apps so it might be an issue with them not updating for some reason.

Quick resume is still screwed up even on Alpha. It seems to drop that 360 connection after a set amount of hours because I played SR3 off and on all day yesterday and never had an issue. I turn on my console today and it had to log me back in which dropped my quick resume game. This is why console updates should be optional and not forced upon us after 24 hours because it was working just fine before the update. Hopefully the next update fixes it which if the schedule sticks should be in a few days unless they slow down because of the upcoming holiday.

That didn't help. Only time it shows internal as capture device is if I go to settings preferences, captures. If I look at the drives themselves it shows the correct external drive as capture device.
Also, I am having no issues with quick resume on 360 or newer games. I started up Fable and Fable II along with Blair Witch last night and all of them would let me do quick resume between them. Now 9 hours later this morning, turned on the Xbox and they still are in quick resume status and work no issue.
Not sure what is going on with yours.

I'll experiment with this later because I just want to play a game for a bit but I may have figured out my quick play issue. I think it's due to cloud gaming. I did the Rainbow Six Siege quest through the cloud earlier instead of downloading a 45GB game that I'll probably never touch again and when I turned on my X a few minutes ago I was again tossed out of my 360 game. I'm thinking logging in on the cloud is logging me out on the console even if it isn't even on because of quick resume holding the account there(for 360 games).
