Is your phone battery better on data or WiFi?
« on: May 02, 2021, 09:53:39 PM »
I put my phone on WiFi after Google Play Store burned through my data in a day and it just kills my battery for some reason. It wouldn't even make a day without needing to be charged even with not using the phone. My battery has started showing its age but it still lasts a full day with normal use just not on WiFi. It's so bad I switched it back to data and just turn on WiFi if I need something that won't work right now because I'm being data speed reduced. On my last charge I had it on WiFi and used the phone for an hour(screen on time) and the phone went from 100% to 37% in about 7 hours. On this charge I've been strictly data with an hour and 8 minutes of screen on time and I'm at 74% battery after 9 hours.

I've compared settings between data/WiFi and everything is the same so it shouldn't be that but who knows. You would think WiFi would be better because the signal is stronger in the house than the data signal but it kills my battery.

So is your phone better on data or WiFi?

Not sure. I leave both on all the time.
